POWER OF APPLE

 APPLE ( Malus domestica ) is one of the most
sought after fruit worldwide, the fruit which has
gained worldwide recognition even from the days of
Adam and Eve and has become one of the most
consumed fruit. It has a lot of nutrients and is a
good addition to our meals.
I love apples. I enjoy the crunchiness, the squeeze
of its juice in my mouth when I chew feels divine. It
is also actually a teeth cleaner but I am not here to
talk about its health benefits alone. I found some
fun facts to share with you. Here are some of my
favourite facts about apples:
There is only one apple that is native to North
America—the Crab-apple.
Apples are members of the rose family.
An average size apple contains 80 calories.
At 4 grams per average size apple, they are a
great source of fiber.
Apple varieties range in size from a pea to the
size of a small pumpkin.
There are over 8000 varieties of apples.
An average-sized apple tree can produce
enough apples to fill 20 boxes that weight 42
pounds each.
It takes about 36 apples to make one gallon of
apple cider.
Thanks to their high levels of boron, apples
can help improve your memory, mental
alertness, and electrical activity of the brain.
While not high in calcium, their boron content
helps strengthen bones.
The soluble fiber found in apples is called
pectin and can help lower cholesterol Levels.
Apples may help boost oestrogen levels in
menopausal women.
The average person eats 65 apples a year.
The largest apple ever picked was 3 pounds 2
ounces.
Humans have been eating apples as far back
as 6500 BC.
In China the word for apples is pronounced
“ping” which also means peace.
Apples are 25% air, which is why they float in
water.
Most of the antioxidants found in apples,

including quercetin, are found in the skin.
